Futong Group is a leading enterprise in the optical communications industry and ranks among China’s Top 500 companies. Wijay designed an information-driven and intelligent automated material handling system for its cable manufacturing base in Jiashan—the world’s largest facility of its kind. The system processes nine types of powdered and granular raw materials and two types of paste materials, and can supply materials to 180 production lines at the manufacturing base. The system achieves fully automated centralized feeding, storage, drying, metering, and conveying for an annual production capacity of 90 million core kilometers of cable materials. It boasts a processing capacity of up to 60 tons per hour and a maximum conveying distance exceeding 600 meters.
This project represents a comprehensive implementation of automation and informatization. All material information and usage data are measured and recorded. The system’s host software is deeply integrated with the factory MES system and interconnected with the enterprise ERP system, providing a reliable implementation platform for exploring Industry 4.0. Utilizing Wijay’s patented technologies and innovative solutions, the project successfully overcomes industry challenges including wire drawing, dust control, high-efficiency drying, online metal removal, and ultra-long-distance conveying. This approach significantly reduces equipment investment and operational costs for customers. The online moisture content measurement and control technology substantially improves product yield rates, establishing a new technical benchmark for the industry.
